How Twisted is YOUR Granny?

Start with a granny square and then give it a twist!

This handmade hat starts with a simple Granny Square and gets a funky twist to give it some texture.

Make it short and sweet, make it long and slouchy. The overall look of this hat is soft, relaxed, casual and comfy.

Made with 8 ply wool, it comes with easy to follow instructions, so once you get the hang of the 2-row repeated pattern you can go nuts and make scarves and other items with the same pattern.

Instructions for both a rolled band and a ribbed one and guides to different hat sizes are all included in the pattern.

Make them as gifts and give them to the whole family, you’ll be hooked!

 

You will need:

8 ply wool

4 mm hook

Scissors

Wool needle.

Abbreviations Used:

ch- chain

tr- treble crochet

sc – single crochet (for an optional roll-up band)

fpt – Front post treble (see below for instructions)

bpt – Back post treble (for an optional band)

st(s) – stitch(es)

ss- slip stitch
